Assist the Chairman in the overall management
and coordination of the functional relationships in the organization.
The tasks included overseeing the project financing arrangement and direct
negotiation with government implementing agencies.
PIATCO is the BOT awardee for the new NAIA International Passenger Terminal 3. Project cost is US$500 million. October 1995 to May 1996
Head of the Corporate Finance Division.
Projects included financial advisory on Vietnam ventures, acquisitions,
divestments and equity investments.
April 1995 to September 1995
Supervised the general administration
of the company's tankering business, aircraft operation and real estate
development project. Also in charge of business development and financial
packaging.
1978 - 1995
Deal team leader handling loan syndication,
structured finance, financial advisory and equity underwriting. Expertise
in project finance and arranging the transactions deal flow. Successfully
completed BOO and BOT projects. Directly involved in policy formulation
for the Group with respect to investments, organizations and personnel.
Supervised Account Officers and Account Officer Assistants.
Assistant Vice President, Institutional Banking Group (1987 - 1993) Acted as Department Head for two years.
In one of those years, the Dept. was awarded the DBP Top Performing Department.
Portfolio of over P3 billion, largely in long term loans, in both peso
and foreign currency denomination. Had extensive knowledge on a wide
range of industries such as cement, power generation, mining, transportation,
warehousing, port service, iron and steel, construction, schools, hospitals,
industrial estate, commercial buildings and paper manufactufing.
Level of contact with clients include the owners, CEO, COO or CFO.
Various Positions in DBP (1978 - 1986) Started with the Branches Department
- involved in plans and programs for the DBP branch network. In 1986,
worked as Staff Assistant in the Office - of the Chairman. Briefly
stayed in the Strategic Planning Center in 1987 as Business Development
Officer before moving to the Institutional Banking Group (IBG) as Account
Officer (A0).
As AO, solicited corporate clients and
evaluated project proposals including negotiation and design of financial
packages. Prepared and presented credit recommendations for higher
management/Board approval, implementation of loan from the post-approval
phase which included documentation up to the full release and daily administration
of accounts.
